Network Configuration

WiFi and hotspot modes require a wireless network card. Before proceeding with the following settings, please check that the wireless network card and antenna are installed correctly!

It is recommended to switch networks using a monitor. Once the network is switched to a new network, the system needs to re-enable network sharing on the new network before VNC remote access can be performed.

1. WiFi Mode

1.1 Connecting to WiFi

Select the menu option in the upper right corner of the system desktop → WiFi Options → Wi-Fi Settings:

Select the WiFi network you want to connect to: If the WiFi signal is weak, check if the antenna is not installed or if the signal in your environment is poor.

Enter the password and click Connect. :

1.2 Viewing WiFi Information

Click the settings icon for the connected WiFi network:

Use the following command in the terminal to view the IP addresses of all networks: enP8p1s0 is the IP address of the wired connection, wlP1p1s0 is the IP address of the WiFi connection

1.3 Setting a Static IP

Click the settings icon of the connected WiFi network to modify the IPv4 options:

Address: Enter the desired static IP address, which must be within the assignable IP address range.

Netmask: Enter 255.255.255.0

Gateway: Enter the default WiFi gateway address.

After completion, reconnect to the WiFi network for the configuration to take effect:

2. Hotspot Mode

The wireless network card needs to support hotspot mode to enable hotspot mode.

The desktop system is configured with a hotspot mode. The hotspot will automatically turn off after a system restart. Users who need this feature can search for tutorials on how to automatically start a hotspot on Ubuntu 22.04.

2.1 Creating a Hotspot

Go to WiFi settings and select Turn On Wi-Fi Hotspot...

2.2 Hotspot Information

Hotspot Name: Jetson_Orin_Hot (Customizable)

Hotspot Password: 12345678 (Customizable)

Default IP for Hotspot Mode: 10.42.0.1
