This tutorial demonstrates the procedure for replacing the SSD with a 2TB model. If you are using the default SSD included with the motherboard, please skip this section.
1. SSD Interface Location
The SSD interface on the Jetson AGX Thor is located on the underside of the unit; a default SSD is pre-installed in this slot.

2. Removing the Original SSD
Unscrew the retaining screw securing the SSD, then gently pull the SSD out from the end where the screw was located.

3. Installing the New SSD
Remove the four retaining screws located on the sides of the SSD mounting bracket, then lift off the heatsink. Note that there is a thermal pad situated between the heatsink and the SSD.

Next, remove the SSD itself, taking care to note the thermal pad located on the underside of the SSD.

Now, place the new 2TB SSD into the mounting bracket. Ensure that the screw holes on the bracket align perfectly with the mounting holes on the SSD. This step is critical; proper alignment is mandatory, as misalignment will prevent the unit from being correctly installed into the motherboard interface.
Align the heatsink with the central notch during installation, and finally tighten the four screws located on the sides.

4. Reinstalling the SSD
First, place the mounting screw into the designated screw hole.

Next, insert the end of the SSD featuring the gold contacts into the M.2 slot.

Finally, tighten the mounting screw.
