09.OpenClawClawHub Introduction (Skill Installation)

ClawHub

ClawHub is the public Skills registry for OpenClaw. It is a free service: all Skills are public and open—anyone can view, share, and reuse them. A Skill is simply a folder containing a SKILL.md file (along with supporting text files). You can browse Skills via the web application, or use the CLI to search for, install, update, and publish Skills. Website: clawhub.com

ClawHub Website Homepage

Positioning within OpenClaw

By default, the CLI installs Skills to ./skills within the current working directory. If an OpenClaw workspace is configured, clawhub will fall back to that workspace unless you override it using --workdir (or CLAWHUB_WORKDIR). OpenClaw loads workspace Skills from <workspace>/skills, and these will take effect in the next session. If you are already utilizing ~/.openclaw/skills or built-in Skills, workspace Skills take precedence. For more details regarding Skill loading, sharing, and access control, please refer to Skills.

Skills Directory Structure

Who Is It For? (Beginner-Friendly)

If you want to add new capabilities to your OpenClaw agents, ClawHub is the easiest way to find and install Skills. You do not need to understand how the backend works. You can:

  • Search for Skills using natural language.
  • Install Skills into your workspace.
  • Update Skills later with a single command.
  • Back up your own Skills by publishing them.

Installing the CLI

Original ClawHub CLI (International Users)

xxxxxxxxxx
npm i -g clawhub
pnpm add -g clawhub

Log In to Your ClawHub Account

Why Log In?

Although ClawHub allows unauthenticated users to search for and install Skills, logging in offers the following key benefits:

  • ✅ Avoid Rate Limits: Unauthenticated users may encounter download speed limits.
  • ✅ Access Full Features: Certain advanced features require you to be logged in to use them.
  • ✅ Publish Skills: Only logged-in users can publish their own Skills.
  • ✅ Favorites and Comments: You can bookmark your favorite Skills and post comments.
  • ✅ Usage Statistics: View your personal usage data.
