Jtop is a system monitoring tool developed specifically for the NVIDIA Jetson series of devices. It provides a comprehensive overview of resource usage across various components—including the CPU, GPU, memory, disk storage, and network—and displays real-time metrics such as hardware temperatures, power consumption, and clock frequencies.
1. Installing Jtop
sudo apt updatesudo pip3 install --break-system-packages git+https://github.com/rbonghi/jetson_stats.git
2. Optimal Performance Mode
Enabling MAXN Mode
Enabling "MAXN Power Mode" (Maximum Power Mode) on the Jetson ensures that all CPU and GPU cores are activated:
xxxxxxxxxxsudo nvpmodel -m 0
Enabling Jetson Clocks
Enabling "Jetson Clocks" ensures that all CPU and GPU cores operate at their maximum clock frequencies:
xxxxxxxxxxsudo jetson_clocks
3. Using Jtop
After restarting the system, you can launch the Jtop tool by entering the jtop command in the terminal:
xxxxxxxxxxjtop
Note: The highest performance metrics will only be displayed if the board's power mode is set to MAXN!
