1. Course Content
Course Overview
OpenClaw TUI is a terminal-based text interaction interface. Without a graphical desktop environment, you can directly have conversations with the OpenClaw robot in the command line. The TUI interaction method is especially suitable for scenarios where you connect to the vehicle computer remotely via SSH and perform pure text interaction in the terminal.
Learning Objectives
- Master the method of starting a terminal interaction session with the
openclaw tuicommand - Learn the advanced usage of starting TUI with parameters
- Become familiar with the common session commands (slash commands) in the TUI terminal
2. Open a TUI Conversation
Applicable Scenarios
TUI conversations are mainly applicable to the following scenarios:
- SSH remote connection — After logging into the vehicle computer remotely via SSH, directly interact with OpenClaw through text in the terminal
- Lightweight interaction — Compared to the Web UI, TUI consumes fewer resources and starts faster, making it suitable for quick debugging and daily use
Enter the following command directly in the terminal to start the TUI conversation interface:
openclaw tui
[!NOTE]
- You can type text to talk with the robot just like using WebChat
- As long as the session ID is the same, the conversation history is synchronized between the WebChat end and the TUI end
3. Common Session Commands in the TUI Terminal
The session commands in the TUI terminal are exactly the same as the slash commands in WebChat, and are used in the same way. All commands must start with
