1. Course Content

  • Learn and master the basic operations and features of Dify.

2. Starting the Dify Service

  • Enter the following command in the terminal:

sh ~/bringup_dify.sh

image-20260904184744552

  • Open a terminal to view the current IP address.

    image-20260904184830253

  • Enter the IP address of the onboard computer directly in the browser address bar to access the Dify management page. If the device is being logged in to for the first time, you need to use the account and password. You can select the language in the top-left corner.

Note

  • Account: yahboom@163.com

  • Password: yahboom123

  • All account names, passwords, agent applications, and RAG data are stored locally.

  • The Dify main interface is shown below.

image-20260904184841328

3. Basic Usage

Tip

  • If you need to use the cloud AI models of a model provider, make sure the virtual machine is connected to the Internet.

3.1 Switching the Dify Language

  • In general, the Dify page follows the browser language when opened. If you need to switch manually, you can change the language in the Settings.

image-20251219163616608

image-20251219163458335

3.1 Connecting Model Provider Services

  • Dify has built-in model interface plugins for different model providers. These plugins are maintained and upgraded by their respective model providers. We can install the plugin for the corresponding model provider to quickly connect to the cloud models of different vendors.

  • Click Plugins → Explore Marketplace → Models in the upper-left area of the home page to enter the model interface plugins page.

image-20251219153621658

  • Here, installing and configuring the Tongyi Qianwen plugin is used as an example. The method for other plugins is the same - click Install.

image-20251219153950145

  • After that, we fill in the API-KEY applied for on the corresponding platform in the Model Provider section of the Settings page. If the API-KEY is available, the corresponding plugin's API KEY will show a green light.

Tip

  • For more detailed API-KEY configuration steps and methods for testing the API-KEY, you can refer to section 2. Configuring API-KEY in the previous chapter.

image-20251219154216240

3.2 Switching Models for an AI Application

  • For AI agent applications that have already been developed, you can quickly switch between different models to test their effects. Here, the core agent yahboom-nuwa_en is used as an example. Open the agent application on the home page.

image-20260904191040748

  • There are three core AIs in it: Task Routing,Decision AI, Execution AI and Bounding Box AI.

image-20260904191117516

  • Here, switching the Decision AI is used as an example. Open the Decision AI card and drop down the model selection bar to switch to models from different providers. Here, qwen3.8-max is selected.

image-20260904191157857

  • We can also fine-tune the model's response effect through parameters. The detailed function of each parameter can be viewed with the mouse.

  • Take the temperature parameter as an example:

xxxxxxxxxx
Controls the degree of randomness and diversity. The temperature value controls the degree to which the probability distribution of each candidate word is smoothed when generating text. A higher temperature value lowers the peaks of the probability distribution, causing more low-probability words to be selected and producing more diverse output; a lower temperature value enhances the peaks of the probability distribution, making high-probability words easier to be selected and producing more deterministic output.

Tip

  • Beginners can generally keep the default parameters, and there is no need to adjust them.

image-20260904191222678

  • Note that after modifying an AI application, you need to click Publish → Publish Update to save the changes.

image-20260904191233851

Warning

Please note

  • For the Execution AI and Bounding Box AI models, because they need to process images, only multimodal models can be selected (vision models have special symbol marks as shown in the figure below).

  • The Task Routing and Decision AI models have no restrictions on models.

  • A small-parameter model can be selected for Task Routing to improve the response speed.

Bounding Box AI model:

If a vision variable is not selected, scroll down and select it.
